I am writing today for two reasons. First, we urge you to vote no on the SAVE act. We do not support this bill. Secondly, we do not support further funding to ICE unless all of the following common sense requests are met. ICE has gone too far. 1 No entering private property without a judicial warrant; 2 No wearing masks to conceal identity; 3 Officers must display ID when asked; 4 No raids in “sensitive locations,” including but not limited to churches, polling places, courts, etc.; 5 No racial profiling; 6 Upload use of force standards; 7 Ensure state and local oversight; 8 Build safeguards including allowing visitation to people in ICE facilities by their lawyers; 9 Mandatory use of body cameras; 10 Make immigration officers use police gear, not military gear.
