I am writing to demand that you take immediate legislative action to end US military involvement in Iran. This entire conflict was a strategic and moral failure from the outset, and every day it continues deepens the damage to OUR nation and the Iranian people.
The stated objectives of this war have not been achieved. After years of hostility, Iran's regional posture remains largely unchanged, regional instability has increased, and the Iranian populace, whose suffering was supposedly a concern, has borne catastrophic civilian losses. There is no credible path to "victory," because the political and strategic conditions for such an outcome do not exist.
The economic cost is staggering and directly harms American households. Military spending on this unwinnable conflict drains resources from healthcare, education, infrastructure, and economic recovery at home. Meanwhile, global energy markets and supply chains remain fragile, exacerbating inflation and financial insecurity for working families.
Diplomatically, our position is weakening. Traditional alliances are strained, our moral authority is eroded by civilian casualties, and we have ceded strategic influence to rivals who benefit from our entanglement. I urge you to exercise your constitutional authority under the War Powers Resolution. Invoke its provisions to compel an end to unauthorized hostilities and refuse any further blank checks for military expansion in the region.
The longer this war persists, the more American service members and Iranian civilians are sacrificed for objectives that cannot be met.
You are elected to represent the interests of your constituents, not to enable endless, futile military commitments.
I expect you to act accordingly.
Please respond with your position on invoking the War Powers Resolution and any legislative steps you will take to force an end to this war.
