“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4 Day 16 of the House Republicans shutdown. People are mourning lost wages, food insecurity, and rising fear. They aren’t the elite. They’re your constituents. Do you think you are blessed? Do you think you are uplifted because you say you love God/Jesus and go to church? I would say those are acts and not true belief. You don’t reanimate his bones. You are filled with commendation and sin but even you could be saved. Learn the beatitudes and practice what you so desperately preach but never seen. Return to the Hill, pass a clean bill, and stop enabling systems of abuse, harm to federal workers, and cover-up. You’ve voted to bury truth. Now choose to confront it.
