The SAVE Act aims to disenfranchise more than half of US voters. Anyone whose current name does not match their birth certificate would need to provide extra documentation in order to re-register to vote. This includes every woman who changed her name at marriage. At a time when the Republicans claim they are going after government waste, how can they promote an act that will be expensive and burdensome not just on individuals, but on the states? Can I count on you to oppose this act and do everything in your power to convince your colleagues to do the same?
