Oppose TRUMP Ballroom Act

To: Sen. Bennet, Rep. Boebert, Sen. Hickenlooper

From: A constituent in Castle Rock, CO

April 28

I am writing as a constituent to express my clear opposition to the “TRUMP Ballroom Act” introduced by Lauren Boebert. This proposal asks taxpayers to support a project that is neither a national priority nor a responsible use of public funds. At an estimated cost in the hundreds of millions of dollars, constructing a new White House ballroom raises serious concerns about fiscal discipline at a time when far more pressing needs remain underfunded. The project has also been surrounded by uncertainty and inconsistency. It has faced legal and procedural obstacles, and it has previously been described as relying on private funding. The shift toward potential taxpayer financing, without clear and transparent justification, only deepens concerns about accountability. Regardless of how it is framed, this proposal does not meet the standard Americans should expect for federal spending. Public funds should not be used for projects that are speculative, politically driven, or lacking clear public benefit. I urge you to oppose the TRUMP Ballroom Act and reject any effort to allocate taxpayer dollars toward this project.
