This Isn’t ‘Making America Great’—It’s Making Musk Rich

To: Rep. Carey, Sen. Moreno, Sen. Husted

From: A constituent in Columbus, OH

March 9

I am writing as a concerned constituent about the growing influence of Elon Musk in our government and the long-term damage his policies are causing. The promise was to “Make America Great Again,” yet what we’re seeing is the opposite—job losses, critical service delays, and taxpayer money funneled into Musk’s businesses while everyday Americans struggle. The reckless budget cuts under Musk’s leadership are eliminating jobs, delaying Social Security and HUD assistance, and threatening our national parks. These cuts do not reflect thoughtful governance. They are actively making life harder for working families, seniors, and vulnerable populations—while Musk’s companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink, continue securing massive government contracts and expanding military deals. Instead of ensuring efficiency, these policies seem designed to consolidate power and wealth into the hands of one billionaire. This is not making America great. It is gutting the very services that keep Americans working, housed, and supported—while Musk profits. And the public is responding. Protests against this overreach are happening nationwide, including weekly demonstrations right here in Ohio. People are demanding action, and as our representative, you must acknowledge and address their concerns. How will you ensure that government decisions benefit the American people, not just Elon Musk? I look forward to your response.
