Reinstate Checks and Balances of Power

To: Rep. Hill, Sen. Boozman, Sen. Cotton

From: A constituent in North Little Rock, AR

March 3

Once again, Trump has attacked foreign powers without Congressional oversight. The bombing of Iran is already being referred to as a war--but Trump did not see approval from you before striking, then hid for the weekend, knowing how bad this would look to the American people. We have been calling for a stop to Trump's policy of attacking first and asking permission later (or not at all) for the entirety of this term. It's time to step up and put a stop to his reckless abuses of power and wild stretching of the limits on the executive office. When a vote is put before you whether to continue the campaign in Iran, I hope you'll consider stepping in his way. I will not disagree that the Ayatollah needed to be replaced, but reports are showing that the bombing campaign preemptively destroyed any chance at a controlled regime change. Now, Iran stands to fall back into extremist hands and Israel holds the power to remake the Middle East in its favor with our military might. Stop "The Peacemaker" before he tries to make peace anywhere else and leads us blindly into World War III. This policy of move fast and break things is not viable on a global stage. Step up and reclaim the checks and balances on the executive branch.
