I am writing as a constituent from Madison, Wisconsin to urge you to support the Protect College Sports Act. College athletics are a vital part of our communities, bringing together students, alumni, and fans while supporting valuable educational opportunities for student-athletes. However, the current environment surrounding college sports has become increasingly uncertain and fragmented, with inconsistent rules, legal challenges, and rapidly changing policies creating confusion for all involved. The Protect College Sports Act would help address this instability by establishing clearer, more consistent national standards. For fans, this certainty is especially important. College sports thrive on tradition, competitive balance, and a shared understanding of the rules governing teams and athletes. When those rules vary widely or shift unpredictably, it undermines confidence in the fairness of competition and makes it harder for fans to stay engaged and invested. By providing a stable framework, this legislation would ensure that fans can follow their teams with a clear understanding of how programs operate, how athletes are supported, and how competition is regulated. That predictability strengthens trust in the system, preserves the integrity of the games, and helps maintain the deep connection between schools and their communities. At the same time, the bill would continue to protect opportunities for student-athletes and reinforce the educational mission of college sports. A consistent national approach benefits not only institutions and athletes, but also the millions of fans who support them. I respectfully encourage you to support the Protect College Sports Act and help bring much-needed clarity, fairness, and long-term stability to college athletics.
