Judges appointed by Democrats & Republicans are essentially rejecting the Trump administration’s abuses of power and dismantling of Democracy. U.S. District Judge William Young, a Reagan appointee, recently condemned the administration’s NIH cuts as discriminatory and “palpable.” He warned: “I would be blind not to call it out.” Other GOP-appointed judges, like Royce Lamberth, have blocked unlawful policies targeting marginalized groups. Their message is clear—this is not governance, it’s overreach.
Donald Trump is 78 years old. He won’t be around forever. But the damage done in his name will echo through generations. History will remember what elected officials did at that moment, whether they upheld the rule of law or enabled its erosion. As Judge Young put it, “The Constitution will not tolerate this.” It’s time for Congress to meet the moment.
We urge you to:
— Publicly support judicial independence and rulings against executive overreach.
— Oppose efforts to undermine the courts or shield the administration from accountability.
— Introduce or back bipartisan measures that reinforce checks and balances.
— Stand up for all Americans & all of your constituents, not just the MAGA extremists.
This isn’t about left or right; it’s about preserving democracy, decency, and the future of our Republic.
