I’m urging you to sign SB 296 providing desperately needed property tax relief to 100% disabled veterans here in beautiful California. As a military spouse whose husband served 31 years on active duty in the US Navy, I can tell you that the sacrifices we have made over the years are real and immense. My husband ended his career in San Diego and we fell in love with the area. Housing, gas, groceries prices here are unfortunately out of our reach and continuing to skyrocket. As a 100% disabled veteran my husband cannot work and I am now the only household earner. His pension and disability payments are not enough for us to afford to stay here in this beautiful state that we have fallen in love with. I’m urging you Governor Newsom to sign SB 296 to give at least a little relief to families like ours so that we might have a better chance of living and contributing to our community here in California. Thank you.
