It is just after 6 AM Eastern on January 3rd as I write. We have apparently committed a grave act of war against Venezuela by spiriting away its leader. You have not adopted an authorization for the use of military force. Nicolas Maduro did nothing that required sending in our military to capture him in the middle of the night to face trial in our domestic courts. Our President is acting in a way that requires stopping. Civilized people do not go abducting the leaders of other nations in the middle of the night. What stops other nations from abducting him now? He’s certainly authorized and directed enough crimes against humanity over the past twelve months that there would be just cause for hundreds of countries to do what we just did to Venezuela to our President. You need to use your power under our Constitution to bring this to an end. This is only going to get worse. Capturing Maduro today is one thing. Which world leader will be kidnapped Sunday to meet his goals?
