Demand a release of all SNAP funding

To: Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Van Duyne

From: A constituent in Dallas, TX

November 10

I am writing again to express my profound anger at this Republican administration for its ongoing refusal to release federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program funds. This unconscionable action has turned the most vulnerable of our citizens into pawns in a political chess game. The administration's instruction to states to "immediately undo any steps" taken to provide full SNAP benefits will cause millions of families to go hungry at a time when many are still reeling from the economic impacts of the pandemic. The timing of this decision is not just poor, it's cruel. Without SNAP funds, millions of families will go hungry on Thanksgiving. Many Texans – including children, the elderly, the disabled, and veterans – will go hungry on Thanksgiving. I urge you to stand up for your constituents and demand a release of all SNAP funding. It's time to put an end to this game-playing with our most vulnerable fellow Americans and prioritize the well-being of the people you swore to serve.
