I'm writing to you in regard to gender affirming care for minors. I need to know that you're doing ALL that you can to protect these kids because currently hospitals in our state are denying them care left and right. I've watched a minor child that I love suffer immensely with a mental health crisis before he transitioned. This was a child who went in-patient for mental health support before the age of 12. A child that would have rather died that continue to live life as a girl. Now this child is 15, and he is thriving. He's happy, he's living his life, he's trying new things, and he's excited to be a teenager. This child deserves a future, and without gender affirming care for him, he will return to his previously fragile mental state. Please protect these kids as if they were your own.
