I am heartbroken to see ICE and border patrol swarming Charlotte and Lake Norman and terrorizing hard-working families. I urge you to fight for vulnerable populations. Do not allow the deplorable violence we have seen toward immigrants happen here. I have friends who are terrified of being targeted because of the color of their skin. They need reassurance and they deserve protection. These ICE agents and border patrol are dangerous and we want them out of our state. You’ve sworn an oath to protect and defend; take that seriously. We are a country of laws and the constitution promises due process for all. All eyes are on Charlotte right now- around the country and around the world. Stand up for what is right and good and just in our country.
