Your military incursion into Venezuela, and abduction of its president, is illegal under international and domestic law, and has the potential to destabilize the whole hemisphere. It makes the world a much less safe place, by establishing a precedent that any powerful country with a legal or moral case against another country may invade it and despose its leader. The world is safer when we have rules that protect all nations and people, not when the world's most powerful head of state violates another's sovereignty without UN approval, and without consulting with the legislature. It's also deeply unfortunate that any American soldier should be wounded or killed to protect, ultimately, the interests of Chevron's shareholders. Especially at a time when we should be becoming less dependent on fossil fuels, anyway. I stand for protecting the environment, protecting American soldiers, protecting the international order, and protecting the sovereignty of all nations.
