While only 6.1% of US citizens are military veterans, 30% of our federal workforce are veterans. When you consider military spouses and spouses of veterans, over half of the civilian federal workforce is associated with military/veteran households. With that said, why are Republicans reveling in destroying these households with threats of layoffs, and withholding paychecks by closing down the federal government? At this time, this Congress and this Administration are the least military/veteran friendly in recent history. You have a sacred stewardship to protect those who have protected us, and instead, you are actively harming them, and allowing an administration to make their lives miserable. These realities will take their toll in the midterm elections.
