Extending ACA Subsidies Will Keep People Alive

To: Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick, Rep. Deluzio

From: A constituent in Pittsburgh, PA

October 29

The failure of our Congress to end this wholly avoidable Republican-led shutdown has created a manufactured crisis that continues to affect the everyday lives of the people of Pennsylvania. Today I am writing as a concerned citizen who is about to see his entire family's healthcare premiums jump because Congress has failed to extend the ACA subsidies that so many of us rely upon. We have worked hard to get where we are and continue to work hard to maintain our standard of living and don't appreciate when our leaders cannot come together to resolve a simple issue such as healthcare subsidies. I am wholly disinterested in fake excuses about Democrats wanting to provide healthcare for undocumented immigrants or any other lies drummed up by the Trump-Johnson regime. While Mr. Trump and Mr. Johnson insulate themselves against reasonable questions and focus on building an expensive ballroom no one asked for, the rest of us are waiting for leaders to step up and govern. Affordable healthcare is a basic human right. Full stop. Please make that possible for your constituents.
