I was deeply disturbed to learn that UnitedHealth Group has been paying nursing homes to avoid transferring patients to hospitals—even when those patients clearly needed urgent care. People suffered, and some were permanently harmed, all so a massive insurance company could boost its profits.
This is exactly the kind of abuse that makes people lose faith in our healthcare system. Stories like this aren’t rare—they’re a feature of a system that puts corporate gain ahead of human life.
I’m tired of watching friends and neighbors pay into a system that fails them when it matters most. It’s time for real change. That’s why I’m asking you to support H.R. 3069 / S. 1506 and take bold action toward universal healthcare.
You represent people—not insurance corporations. Please listen to the 70% of your constituents who want a system that prioritizes care over profit. We need you to act.
