I am writing to urge you to publicly call for the resignation of Congressman Max Miller in light of the recent allegations of domestic violence involving his wife. While every person is entitled to due process and the presumption of innocence in a court of law, elected officials are held to a higher standard because they serve in positions of public trust. Domestic violence is a serious issue that affects millions of Americans. Members of Congress should be leaders who demonstrate integrity, accountability, and respect for others. When credible allegations of spousal abuse emerge against a sitting member of Congress, it is not enough to remain silent and hope the controversy fades away. If your party truly believes in law and order, family values, and accountability, those principles should apply equally to everyone, including members of your own party. Americans deserve leaders who are willing to put ethics ahead of political convenience. I am asking you to publicly call for Congressman Max Miller’s resignation while the allegations are fully investigated. At a minimum, I expect you to clearly state that domestic violence has no place in public service and that no elected official should receive special treatment because of their political position. Silence sends a message. Speaking out sends a different one—that victims matter, that accountability matters, and that no one is above the standards expected of those entrusted with public office. I look forward to hearing your response and to seeing whether you are willing to demonstrate that your commitment to accountability is more than just a campaign slogan.
