I am writing to express serious concern about the Department of Vet bargaining agreements for nearly all VA employees. erans Affairs’ decision on August 6, 2025, to terminate collective who serve our nation’s veterans every day. This action stripped union representation from hundreds of thousand s of healthcare professionals, support staff, and frontline workers The VA claims this move will improve efficiency and free up space, but the real effect is to silence workers who advocate for safe staffing, patient care , and basic workplace protections. Gutting collective bargaining rights does not help veterans; it undermines the very people responsible for their care. These workers are speaking out because they have seen firsthand the impact of hospital closures, staff shortages, and policy shifts that hurt veterans. Removing their collective voice now is not only unjust, it is dangerous. I urge you to act immediately to restore collective bargaining rights to all VA employees. Congress must ensure these employees are protected under Title 5 of the U.S. Code and prevent the VA from stripping those rights unilaterally. VA employees are the backbone of our veteran care system. Silencing them will only harm the veterans they serve.
