I Support H.B. 444 - Delaware John Lewis Voting Rights Act

To: Rep. Lambert, Sen. Seigfried, Gov. Meyer

From: A constituent in Claymont, DE

June 8

I want to share my immense support for H.B. 444 to amend Title 15 of the Delaware Code Relating to the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. By strengthening multiple protections against voter discrimination, this bill will help to reinforce Delawareans’ constitutional right to free and equal elections. The provisions within this bill maximize voter participation and ensure equal opportunity to participate in the political process by: • Banning election policies that can impair any minority group’s ability to vote • Prohibiting voter dilution that could erase minority votes • Mandating multilingual voting assistance in limited-English-speaking areas • Prohibiting voter intimidation, deception, or obstruction and the dissemination of false information related to elections or voting. Thank you for sponsoring and supporting H.B. 444 to strengthen voting rights protections throughout the great state of Delaware.
