Once again, I am doing my civic duty and writing you as your constituent because it seems like you need a reminder: It is not your job to serve the president, whoever it may be, because you are not employed by the president. It is your job to serve me and all of your other constituents. WE employ you. You serve us. It is ALSO your job to obey, protect, and uphold the constitution. You are currently failing your job duties, you are currently failing your country and you are currently failing your constituents. I say ‘currently’ because currently, you are doing nothing. You are being silent and by being silent, you are being complicit. Have you forgotten our system of checks and balances? You must have since you’re doing nothing. Nothing! I have a question: Why are you doing nothing? There must be a reason. What is the reason? Why are you letting a felon, a self-styled king, attack our constitution and your constituents? This felon has forgotten that he is a public servant, not a king and not a dictator. You have forgotten that this felon is not your boss. Here’s another reminder: You don’t have to continue to do nothing. This country is more important than ANY political party. This country is more important than the ego of Donald Trump. We may not belong to the same side of the political spectrum but I’ve agreed and have even supported you in the past. I’ve even voted against my registered party in some cases because I can recognize that our country as a whole is greater than any political party we’ve invented. Even you have done so previously, I’ve reviewed your entire voting record. You can do it again! I’ve failed at emailing you when I’ve felt positively towards you and for that, I apologize. However, as long as you continue to do nothing, I can no longer in good conscience support you in any way in the future. This moment right now is the defining moment of your career. YOU MUST DO YOUR JOB AND STAND UP FOR YOUR PEOPLE, THIS COUNTRY, AND OUR CONSTITUTION. Other House Representatives and other Senators are! Millions of people around the world are speaking out against him! America is not the land of kings. America is the land of the people and the power of the people is ALWAYS greater than the people in power. Unless you stand up to Donald Trump, we WILL remember your silence, your cowardliness, and your complicity during this constitutional crisis when your seat is up for election.
