Safeguard rights: pass immigration enforcement transparency laws

Credible reporting reveals George Retes, a US citizen and Army veteran, was detained for three days without explanation during an immigration raid at his workplace, held in terrible conditions. His family could not locate him, and he was denied legal counsel, missing his daughter's birthday. This unacceptable ordeal, stemming from our flawed immigration system, violated Retes' civil liberties and trampled due process. People need to be treated with decency, no matter who they are. New legislation is urgently needed to prevent such injustices and safeguard rights. I urge the passage of laws mandating transparency and accountability for all immigration enforcement actions to uphold American values. Innocent individuals like Retes must be protected from these dehumanizing ordeals. For more details, see https://www.cnn.com/2025/07/19/us/california-immigration-raid-george-retes
