A vital program that is improving Ohio's water quality is at risk.
The H2Ohio program has restored, protected and created over 16,000 wetlands in Ohio. Wetlands reduce nutrient runoff that enters Ohio's waterways and, in turn, reduce harmful algal blooms that negatively impact drinking water and recreational opportunities. This important wetland restoration effort also provides the habitat that state-endangered birds like the American Bittern need to survive.
Healthy waters mean healthy birds and communities, yet the Ohio legislature has proposed a nearly 45% cut in funding to H2Ohio.
Help protect the clean water and wetlands that birds need. Please oppose cuts to H2Ohio and fully fund the program at $270 million, the level requested by Governor DeWine!
