I'm writing to strongly oppose H.R. 1526, the No Rogue Rulings Act (NORRA). If enacted, this bill would undermine the fundamental system of checks and balances in our Constitution, endangering the rights and freedoms of all Americans. NORRA would severely restrict federal district courts' ability to issue nationwide injunctions against unlawful government actions. By design, it would prevent these courts from effectively stopping illegal policies, including those enacted by the current administration. When a federal action harms people across the country, the courts must have the authority to provide swift and comprehensive relief. Our Constitution’s framers established an independent judiciary as a safeguard against government overreach. This politically motivated effort to weaken the judiciary must be rejected. I urge you to uphold your oath of office and oppose NORRA. Thank you.
