I believe we are all in a tight spot right now. There are issues in the upcoming budget that are meaningful to many people, and may have devastating consequences for your constituents in Mississippi. In addition, the President of the United States is usurping powers that do not belong to him constitutionally. These are the facts. You have power in your position as a member of Congress, but that power means nothing unless it is wielded. I believe this is a turning point of history. There may be others in the future, but after this, untold damage will be done. As a Mississippi mother of two special needs children, I have no concept of what life will look like if Medicaid is stripped and the Department of Education is dismantled. This level of uncertainty underlies the entire country, due to the actions in Washington. This is the time. The time to reach across the aisle and find common cause. To take back the financial power of the Congress and restore the checks and balances intended by our founding fathers. If not you, who? Please consider changing the course of history and standing up for our way of governance.
