An Open Letter

To: Rep. Cassel, Sen. Sharief, Gov. DeSantis

From: A verified voter in Davie, FL

June 27

I am writing as a constituent to urge you to oppose any effort to delay or postpone the 2025 elections in Florida. Free and fair elections held on a regular schedule are the foundation of our democracy, and any attempt to interfere with that schedule threatens the trust and participation of voters. Postponing elections—no matter the justification—sets a dangerous precedent. It weakens public confidence in our institutions and raises serious concerns about transparency, accountability, and voter suppression. Floridians deserve a government that honors their right to vote, not one that limits or delays it. Elected officials must lead by defending the democratic process, even when it is politically inconvenient. I urge you to make a clear and public commitment to protecting the 2025 elections and ensuring they take place on time, as guaranteed by our state and federal laws. I hope to see you take a firm stand in support of our voting rights.
