This decision was not only reckless but insulting to the integrity of one of our nation’s most important institutions. Patel’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on September 16, 2025, makes clear just how unfit he is to hold this office. Under oath, he claimed that the FBI has “no credible information” that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked minors to anyone beyond himself. This directly contradicts sworn survivor depositions and unsealed court documents that describe Epstein “lending” victims to his associates. Patel’s statement was not just misleading—it was perjury. Lying under oath before Congress is a federal crime, and no one should be above the law, least of all the Director of the FBI. Your vote to place a political ally and podcaster in charge of the FBI has undermined both the credibility of Congress and the safety of the American people. At a time when faith in public institutions is at historic lows, you have chosen to deepen that mistrust by elevating someone demonstrably unqualified and dishonest to one of the most critical posts in government. I demand that you support immediate investigations into Patel’s false testimony and push for accountability. If Congress tolerates perjury from its own appointees, it destroys any expectation of truth or integrity in government oversight. Your constituents deserve more than partisan loyalty tests and political gamesmanship—we deserve leaders who will put the rule of law above party and power. Your vote for Patel has made clear where you stand, and I will remember that come election season.
