Vote no on hr9495

To: Rep. Carl

From: A verified voter in Mobile, AL

November 16

The proposed H.R. 9495 poses a grave threat to civil liberties and due process. By allowing the executive branch to unilaterally revoke the tax-exempt status of nonprofits deemed "terrorist supporting organizations" without providing any reasoning or evidence, this bill would give the government unchecked power to suppress free speech and target political opponents. There are already existing federal laws to address legitimate national security concerns related to financing terrorism. H.R. 9495 is an unnecessary and dangerous overreach that could be abused to punish groups for simply holding dissenting views. Protecting our fundamental rights and democratic principles must be the top priority. I urge you to vote no on this deeply concerning legislation.
