The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has already canceled or rescinded a huge number of grants, by order of President Trump. And now the preliminary 2026 budget (which starts on October 1st, 2025) contains ZERO funding for Arts and Culture! These cuts are already threatening arts and culture in Oklahoma and they are already impacting access to arts education for Oklahoma students. This is especially true in rural and underserved areas of Oklahoma that often do not have a lot of access to the cultural, educational, and economic benefits of the arts. For example, the NEA grant Sunny Dayz Mural Festival applied for was recently denied. The same is true for the Oklahoma Arts Institute, one of the most preeminent summer arts programs in the country! The people of Oklahoma deserve better! You must show your support for the Arts and reverse these devastating funding cuts.
