The budget betrayal has been absolutely devastating to the country and to the Democratic brand. Just absolutely shocking. It only makes sense if Schumer, who never did endorse Zohran Mamdani, heard from the airlines (perennial political donors) and Walmart and other businesses feeling the shutdown heat and decided that mattered more than the month+ of suffering experienced by regular people who still wanted Senate Dems to hold the line. We can’t have this kind of “leadership” when Trump starts really contesting elections or starts an illegal war in Venezuela.
