Our Military Must Serve the Nation—Not a Party
To: Pres. Trump
From: A verified voter in Donnellson, IL
June 11
I write as a deeply concerned American and supporter of our military—one of our nation’s most cherished institutions.
I am alarmed by recent military events:
Active-duty service members in uniform were encouraged to boo political figures during what appeared to be partisan gatherings.
The enforcement of a policy disqualifying transgender individuals from service, including seasoned officers like Col. Bree Fram, directly undermines years of progress toward equality and unit cohesion.
Our military must remain nonpartisan, merit-based, and inclusive. Its credibility depends on defending all Americans, regardless of identity or political affiliation.
I respectfully ask that you:
Reaffirm publicly the military’s nonpartisan oath to the Constitution over any political leader.
Review and halt policies that disenfranchise transgender service members, allowing them to continue contributing their unique skills and dedication.
Support congressional efforts to protect the military from politicization.
Thank you for considering my perspective. I urge you to uphold the integrity of our armed forces for the sake of national unity and strength.
