Public schools need to be fully funded. It’s part of the Missouri Constitution. All of these small acts that the legislature is doing to undermine our kids’ future is despicable. Drop this ridiculous notion of raising sales tax and removing income tax. Stop sending our money to unaccountable charters unless they want to play by the same rules and be held to the same standards as our public schools. Anything short of this is unconscionable. As a public school librarian, a tax payer, and a public school parent I demand that the taxes we generate be used to fully fund our public schools.
