Yesterday was a historic victory for America. Do not waste this opportunity to save our foundering ship and set course for a better future. The people of the State of California, and the American people, need you to pursue meaningful change to make their lives easier, every single day. End the war. Abolish ICE. Stop the assault on our neighbors. But they ALSO need you to HOLD THE ADMINISTRATION ACCOUNTABLE. The reason it was possible for a criminal to be elected President, even after a violent, murderous attempt to overthrow our government on January 6, 2021, is that those in positions of power did not do enough in the interim to hold him responsible for his actions. Now, for the last two years, Trump and his cronies have ransacked and pillaged the American people, destroying those parts of our government that we rely on the most, engaging in insane, brazen acts of corruption, and stealing resources from the people. Investigate them. Make the connection. Show the people how Trump’s actions have made their lives worse. And then hold Trump and his cronies responsible. Sanction them. Make them restore to the people what they’ve taken. The current milquetoast opposition leadership is untenable. I have no confidence in the ability of either Chuck Schumer or Hakeem Jeffries to lead the Democratic Party through the kind of seismic change, and concrete measures, the people are demanding. Find new leaders. Meet the moment.
