am writing to express my outrage at the blatant disregard for the rule of law in the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who remains unjustly deported despite a clear Supreme Court order requiring his return.
Today, during a public meeting, President Donald Trump falsely claimed that the Supreme Court was “on his side” and that it had no authority to order Kilmar’s return. This is not only an outright lie; it is a direct challenge to the authority of the highest court in our nation and sets a dangerous precedent that threatens the rights of every American, not just immigrants.
When our leaders openly defy the Supreme Court, we cease to be a nation of laws—we become a nation of authoritarianism. If this kind of abuse can be directed toward someone like Kilmar Abrego Garcia, it can and will be directed at anyone deemed inconvenient or unworthy by those in power.
I demand that Congress:
1. Publicly reaffirm the authority of the Supreme Court in this case and all others.
2. Demand the immediate return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, in full compliance with the Court’s ruling.
3. Hold Donald Trump accountable for spreading misinformation and undermining judicial authority.
Congress has a duty to uphold the Constitution. Silence in the face of this injustice is complicity. History will remember where you stood.
Sincerely,
A concerned American citizen
