An Open Letter
To: Rep. Fallon
From: A constituent in Royse City, TX
July 25
I am writing to express deep concern regarding the inhumane conditions reported at the U.S. Immigration Field Office located at 8101 N Stemmons Freeway in Dallas, Texas. Eyewitness accounts and community testimony, including from LGBTQ+ asylum seekers and local families, describe over 30 individuals being confined in a small room without air conditioning, running water, or medical oversight. These conditions are not only unacceptable—they are in violation of basic health, safety, and human rights standards.
Local grassroots organization Vecinos Unidos DFW has taken action by filing a formal complaint with the City of Dallas, collecting verified testimonies, and organizing a community vigil. Their message is clear: no agency is above the law, and silence in the face of such treatment is complicity.
I urge you to:
Demand a full investigation into the conditions at this facility.
Ensure that federal agencies operating in Texas comply with local health and safety codes.
Use your platform to advocate for humane treatment and accountability.
Texans believe in justice, dignity, and the rule of law. I hope you will stand with your constituents in demanding better.
