Vote against any measure that would restore benefits, back pay, or financial compensation to individuals convicted of participating in the January 6th insurrection. These people attacked the Capitol, threatened the lives of elected officials and staff, and attempted to overturn a legitimate election. They should not receive a single taxpayer dollar as a reward for that. Some of these individuals were federal employees who lost their jobs and pensions as a direct consequence of their actions. That accountability was appropriate and just. Reversing it sends a clear message that violent attacks on democracy carry no real consequences. I expect you to hold that line and oppose any legislation, rider, or executive action that puts public money in the pockets of insurrectionists.
