I'm worried about a few incidents from the last several days and the direction they suggest the country is headed. Yesterday, the Trump administration sent a heavily armed military/DHS deployment to MacArthur Park in Los Angeles for no particular reason. Leaked documents show that it was essentially a show of force. The fact that the whole operation was a bizarre failure does not mitigate the ominous intent: The federal government sending troops to wander around and intimidate civilians. This is tinpot dictatorship behavior. President Trump last year claimed he would be a dictator on day 1 only. It is time for Congress to remind him his one day is over.
