Greetings. As one of your constitutes, I greatly oppose the Kids Online Safety Act(KOSA). It's wording and name imply that it is going to protect children online should it pass. However, it will not do that despite how it is written. Senator Wyndon recently made a statement as to why he will be voting NO on it in its final vote in the Senate. One of the key points he makes is the chan ges made to it aren't sufficient enough to be able to ease any privacy concerns. KOSA will not protect children. It would force numerous websites to censor speech and/or enable privacy invading ID verification, causing minors and adul ts to have even less privacy online. KOSA would violate the First Amendment and thus, free speech as well as online privacy. The Internet is a digital world with its own cultures and is ther efore, a place that requires privacy in at least some areas for its users. Additionally, passing KOSA would harm small businesses and give the likes of the FTC and Attorney Generals the power to censor whatever they wanted to o nline. Abortion, the Bible, LGBTQ+ rights, Christian content, and more could all be censored with KOSA. You are the people who represent us in government. It falls on you to prove that your worthy of such a responsibility at all times. Vote NO on KOSA and you will be able to display some of that worthiness. Sincerely, A Concerned Constitute opposed to KOSA
