WHEN IS ENOUGH ENOUGH?

Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas. Good of Time magazine to give your GOP presidential candidate opportunity to inform the world of plans for his second term in office. The interview is backed up with words from the horse’s own mouth, not just hyperbolic rhetoric from third-parties. The second term, where he won’t be as ‘nice’ as he was in the first will look like this… He plans to use the military to round up, put in camps, and deport more than 11 million people. (And they’re thinking Texas might be the perfect choice for this activity.) He is willing to permit Republican-dominated states to monitor pregnancies and prosecute people who violate abortion bans. He will shape the laws by refusing to release funds appropriated by Congress (as he did in 2019 to try to get Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky to smear Hunter Biden). He would like to bring the Department of Justice under his own control, pardoning those convicted of attacking the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, and ending the U.S. system of an independent judiciary. In a second Trump presidency, the U.S. might not come to the aid of a European or Asian ally that Trump thinks isn’t paying enough for its own defense. Trump would, Eric Cortelessa wrote, “gut the U.S. civil service, deploy the National Guard to American cities as he sees fit, close the White House pandemic-preparedness office, and staff his Administration with acolytes who back his false assertion that the 2020 election was stolen.” And much more. There you have it. At what point does your party stop making excuses for this type of rhetoric and see it for what it is? A plan to destroy democracy in America. Appeasers always take the position that language is just that, that the intent for action is not really there. History has proven that to be wrong time and time again. How much more proof is needed? He says it. He’ll do it. That is, unless your party stops enabling him. Your choice.
