An Open Letter

To: Sen. Curtis, Sen. Lee, Rep. Kennedy

From: A constituent in Provo, UT

The "Food Traceability Rule" was supposed to go into effect in January 2026, making it easier to track down the sources of contaminated food. However, Taylor Foods started paying to lobby against regulation of food safety in January 2025 - and in March of that year, the FDA suddenly announced they were pushing back implementation of the Food Traceability Rule, followed by a mysterious $1 million donation to a Trump-aligned super PAC six days later. And now we have a massive Cyclospora outbreak linked to Taylor Farms. The blatant corruption leading to negative outcomes for thousands of American citizens is disgusting, to say the least, and yet you approve of this. What does that say about you?
