Fund Transgender Healthcare Access Now

To: Gov. Whitmer, Rep. Andrews, Sen. Nesbitt

From: A verified voter in Stevensville, MI

May 29

Blocking anti-trans legislation is not enough. With over 40 hospitals nationwide pausing or ending gender-affirming care under federal pressure, trans residents in this state are losing access to care right now. Defending rights on paper means nothing if people can't get treatment. This state needs dedicated funding for transgender healthcare access. Massachusetts showed it's possible — Governor Healey signed a Gender-Affirming Care Trust Fund into law in 2025. A state fund would help outpatient providers absorb patients displaced by hospital closures and give trans residents a real safety net. Introduce and pass this legislation before the session ends.
