I am writing to you as a concerned constituent to say this clearly: the American people do NOT want another war.
The Constitution is explicit. The power to declare war belongs to Congress — not solely to the President. That separation of powers exists for a reason. It prevents unilateral military escalation and protects the will of the people through their elected representatives.
If the President is taking military action without proper congressional authorization, that is not leadership — it is a dangerous overreach. Continued executive actions without accountability erode the rule of law and undermine the very framework you swore an oath to defend.
Silence is not neutrality. Silence is complicity.
If you and your colleagues in the GOP fail to assert Congress’s constitutional authority now, voters will notice. Americans are exhausted by endless conflict, reckless spending abroad, and leaders who refuse to check executive power when it is politically inconvenient. If you do not stand up and speak out, the political consequences will be severe.
This is the moment to demonstrate courage, not partisanship. Defend the Constitution. Reclaim Congress’s authority. Represent the will of the people.
We do not want war.
