I urge you to reject the nomination of Emil Bove for a lifetime seat on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Federal judges make decisions impacting our daily lives and require an unimpeachable commitment to the rule of law. Bove, a Department of Justice attorney and former personal lawyer to President Trump, faces serious allegations from a whistleblower. The whistleblower claims Bove suggested ignoring court orders, even stating the DOJ might need to disregard orders from courts. Such a blatant disregard for the rule of law is unacceptable for an attorney, let alone a lifetime federal judge. The Society for the Rule of Law, which has never before opposed a judicial nominee, views Bove's alleged willingness to "undermine the integrity" of federal law enforcement as "unthinkable in a federal judge" and incompatible with judicial service. I strongly urge you to vote NO on Emil Bove's nomination to protect the integrity of our judicial system.
