Republicans as a whole need to wake up now and grow a spine. The VP and cabinet in particular are in legal peril. Trump is on the verge of committing war crimes if he proceeds to bomb civilian infrastructure in Iran. By not doing anything, the VP and cabinet are complicit and could also be charged with the crimes. They have the ability under the 25th amendment to remove Trump from power and prevent the war crimes. Doing nothing is in effect approval. “We didn’t know”, “We were just following orders”, etc. did not work at Nuremberg and won’t work now. Mike Johnson, as speaker of the House, is also in legal jeopardy. Articles of impeachment have been started, but he won’t let them get to the floor for a vote. This also is an act of compliance. Unfortunately the US is not a member of the world court in the Netherlands, so formal proceedings there won’t punish the perpetrators, but world condemnation will undoubtedly follow. It may take decades for the US to regain its former position. If the spineless GOP does nothing, when the Democrats take power in the 2026 midterm elections they need to immediately take steps to remove the president from power and take action to punish Trump and all those who were complicit in carrying out his evil agenda.
