Re-evaluate unethical Israel-Palestine policy and end violations
To: Sen. Merkley, Sen. Wyden
From: A constituent in Portland, OR
August 1
The United States provides billions in military aid to Israel, despite alarming reports of human rights abuses and a worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. This policy enables the ongoing oppression of Palestinians and escalates violence in the region. It is morally reprehensible and contradicts American values of justice and equality. The disproportionate influence of pro-Israel lobbying groups has skewed U.S. policy for too long. We must re-evaluate our unconditional support for the Israeli government and pressure them to end the blockade of Gaza immediately. American tax dollars should uplift all people, not enable apartheid and ethnic cleansing abroad. A firm stance against human rights violations is required, including severe consequences for non-compliance. It is time to prioritize human lives over corporate profits and put an end to our government's unethical alliance with the far-right Israeli regime. Senator Wyden's refusal to take meaningful action puts his seat at risk, as he will not be receiving my vote.
