The biggest piece of unfinished business? You still need to pass comprehensive data privacy legislation. End and Ban mass surveillance in our state! Thanks to tireless advocacy from ACLU, volunteer orgs, and coalitions, data privacy was top of mind for both lawmakers and constituents. This has bipartisan support, and should be an easy win. However, a final data privacy bill still needs to be hammered out and sent to the governor so they can sign it into law. Our lawmakers must pass effective data privacy law and ban the sale of our most sensitive data! Surveillance affects people in Marginalized populations way more than the white, rich, and powerful. It perpetuates DHS / ICE's evil assault on the People you're hired to protect! Sensitive information about our location, our health, and our kids should stay private. Without an enforceable data privacy law, it never will be. We will be making noise about data privacy until lawmakers stop Big Tech from collecting and profiting off our most private information. We demand data privacy protections for our state!
