President Trump sure is a busy guy. Now that he’s given up on MAGA he’s turned his laser focus on the rest of the world. Bombing. Overthrowing. Invading. Threatening. King making. Behaving like a chess master in a real-life game of Risk. Chasing the thing he loves the best. Ratings.
Aren’t you tired of it? Everyone else on the planet is.
Kristi Noem is gone. Well, not exactly gone but shuffled off so she still has some sort of title and paycheck to assure her loyalty, i.e. keeping her mouth shut.
And what finally got her the ax? After the multitude of crimes against decency and basic traits that make us an empathetic and compassionate species? She told the truth about the president she serves.
Do any of you believe she lied under oath about Trump approving, and approving of, every awful thing we’ve seen her do as head of DHS? It was all fine and dandy until she pointed the truth at him. Then it’s off with her head.
It makes you wonder why people continue to believe that when push comes to shove Trump will ever have their back. The only time that would appear to be true is if he has a personal financial interest. Or he’s guarding secrets. Or his secrets are being guarded.
It’s all quid pro quo, all the time.
So yeah, we’re glad Kristi Noem is gone. But she wasn’t the problem. We know that. You know that. And we’ll keep watching you all play the game required to keep yourselves in good graces. Until it’s your turn to take a trip underneath the bus.
P.S. the too-late outrage by GOP Senators is a bit too little too late don’t you think? Aren’t you the ones who gave her the job? Unquestioning loyalty equaled dereliction of duty.
Can’t wait to see what you do with Senator Mullins. He seems yet another totally qualified candidate for the job at DHS.
But qualifications have never been a prerequisite for much of anything in Trump world. Only subservience and slavish loyalty is required.
And there’s an endless supply of that in DC right now.
But things eventually always turn around so will end with a quote from Senator Ron Wyden: “Turns out lawlessness is not a winning strategy,” he posted. “See you at Nuremberg 2.0.”
History is waiting to be written.
