Protect the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program

To: Rep. Joyce, Sen. Moreno, Sen. Husted

From: A constituent in Concord Township, OH

July 18

The Vaccine Injury Compensation Program is essential to ensuring a stable supply of childhood vaccines in the U.S. Dismantling or radically changing it risks driving manufacturers out of the market—just like in the 1980s, when lawsuits caused dangerous shortages of vaccines for diseases like whooping cough. This no-fault system was created with bipartisan support to protect both public health and vaccine access. But recent actions by the new HHS Secretary—like pushing debunked claims about autism or proposing sweeping changes—threaten to destabilize the program and put children at risk. Congress must act now. Hold hearings. Demand scientific justification for any changes. We cannot allow misinformation or ideology to undermine vaccine access for future generations.
