Block every effort to privatize, log, or drill our public lands. The Trump administration's executive order opening 280 million acres of national forests to logging bypasses the Endangered Species Act and puts wildlife, water quality, and wildfire risk on the wrong side of history. On January 20th, another executive action reopened the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas drilling — a pristine ecosystem that oil companies themselves showed little interest in when leases were last auctioned. These aren't economic wins. They're giveaways.
The Presidio Trust in San Francisco is a proven model of public-private land stewardship, and it's now being targeted for political reasons. That tells you everything about what's driving these decisions. Vote against any legislation that weakens protections for national forests, wildlife refuges, or public land management agencies. Oppose budget cuts to the National Park Service and Bureau of Land Management. These lands belong to the public — not to the extractive industries lining up to profit from them.
